We designate the different forms of Avidin D with a letter relating to the intended application. For example, Avidin DN is recommended for use with biotin-labeled nucleic acids, Avidin DH for the Hsu "ABC" immunoperoxidase technique, etc. Each application of the Biotin-Avidin System may require a different form of avidin for optimal performance.
