In cosmetics, xanthan gum is used to prepare water gels, usually in conjunction with bentonite clays. It is also used in oil-in-water emulsions to help stabilise the oil droplets against coalescence. It has some skin hydrating properties.
A natural gum (derived from a natural fermentation process) used in cosmetic and food products as a thickening and stabilising agent.

Uses:It is used in the following product types: facial moisturizer/treatment ; moisturizer ; anti-aging ; facial cleanser ; sunscreen: SPF 15-30 ; toothpaste ; foundation ; sunscreen: moisturizer ; exfoliant/scrub ; hand cream.
