The oil contains a unique acid called Callophylsäure. Together with some anti-inflammatory substances, this acid, the cause of some valuable effects of Tamanu oil. Based on the demonstrated effects of these substances Tamanu has a strong antiseptic. At the same time it has natural scarring and anti-neuralgic qualities which, while proven and accepted, until now, however, are not yet explained scientifically. Tamanu oil, they say, brings among other relief in case of neuritis, neuralgia, rheumatism and psoriasis. There are several confirmed reports of the successful use of Tamanu Oil for serious skin injuries to support the natural regeneration of the skin and scarring. In other cases, the oil for the treatment of burns of any kind (water, chemicals, X-rays) is used.
