Taphole clay
Product name: taphole clay
Product description:?RSR 908 is a taphole clay designed for high-pressure furnaces. Its high silicon nitride and silicon carbide content give it excellent resistance to slag and erosion. RSR 908 contains additional synthetic components to enhance its casting capabilities and provide health and environmental advantages not usually associated with petroleum bonded clays.
RSR 961 is an alumina-based taphole clay with silicon carbide and silicon nitride predominant. Other anti-oxidants are used to fortify its slag resistance. Products using this combination of silicon carbide and silicon nitride are typically used for blast furnaces producing at least 10,000 tons of hot metal per day.
RSR 1170R varieties are taphole clay products that use our proprietary resin bond and are designed for blast furnaces producing up to 6,000 tons of hot metal per day. The resin bond makes these products versatile enough to use in both traditional drilling as well as soaking bar practices.
RSR 1175 is a high-alumina taphole clay that contains silicon carbide, silicon nitride, and other antioxidant to increase its resistance to slag erosion.
RSR 1657 is a taphole clay that contains an optimal amount of additives to enhance product performance on blast furnaces producing less than 5000 tons of hot metal per day. This product contains a blend of bauxite and flint clays with a maximum grain size of 5.6 mm.
RSR 1133 is a taphole clay that contains no coal tar and is typically used as a "plugging paste" in non-blast furnace operations.
