Azolitmin and erythrolitmin, alkaloid, lecanoricacid, orcein, erythrolein are the main parts of the litmus.We can see blue powder,lump or cubic crystal with our naked eyes.It is partial water-soluble and alcohols-soluble. It is absolute a natural pigment abstracted from Lichenes by modern biotechnology.Widely used in beverage as natural coloring.Also used as acid base indicator.
