Product description :
This product is a nitroimidazole drug used for its radiosensitizing properties. Administration of etanidazole results in a decrease of glutathione concentration and inhibits glutathione S-transferase.The result is that tissues become more sensitive to the ionizing radiation used in cancer treatment.It belongs to a general group of drugs known as hypoxic radiosensitizers. These are drugs that increase the effect of radiation on cancer cells by pretending to be oxygen, which cancer cells without oxygen (hypoxic) need.
