Loteprednol etabonate is a prescription eye solution used for the treatment of certain inflammatory conditions affecting the eye. It belongs to a family of anti-inflammatory drugs called corticosteroids. Other members of this family include hydrocortisone (Neo-Cortef) and prednisolone (Predsol).

Uses :
Loteprednol etabonate is indicated for the treatment of several inflammatory conditions affecting the anterior chamber (front portion) of the eye such as the following:
Allergic conjunctivitis
Acne rosacea
Superficial punctate keratitis
Herpes zoster keratitis
Iritis
Cyclitis
Selected types of infectious conjunctivitis
Loteprednol is also used for the treatment of inflammation that may occur after eye surgery.
