Telmisartan is a kind of white crystalline powder with no odour and taste and it is soluble in chloroform, sparingly soluble in methylene dichloride, slightly soluble in methanol, very slightly soluble in ethanol, ethyl acetate & acetone and practically insoluble in water.Telmisartan is in a gruop of drugs named as angiotensin II receptor blockers, or ARBs for short. This product is indicated in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), which is effective in lowdering both systolic and diastolic blood pressure and could then cause blood vessels to relax. Beside, Telmisartan could also be applied to reduce the risk of stroke, heart attack or even death on people. And it could have effect on those patients who have no ablity of taking ACE inhibitors.
